For over 20 years the San Angelo Cultural Affairs Council has been bringing world class jazz concerts to our classrooms and the historic Cactus Hotel. We offer three great concerts this fall season:
We kick off our lineup on September 14th with Cow Bop and Western Swing dancing in the historic Cactus Hotel Ballroom. Band leader, Bruce Forman is one of the most talented guitarists working today and has been featured on a multitude of records as well as multiple films for Clint Eastwood including Million Dollar Baby, Flags of our Fathers and Hereafter. This will be the Texas debut for this Western Swing/Bop band which has done well charting high on four seperate music charts.
Vocalist, Kathy Kosins, returns to the Cactus on October 12th after many requests for an encore following her 2007 appearance. Grammy-winning producer Don Was (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt) claims Kathy, "One of the finest singers in the world."
We close out the season November 9th with a duo performance of two of the most sought after session players working today, John Di Martino (piano) and Warren Vache (cornet). New York City will have to do without them for one night!
